Mercedes Benz India, the Indian arm of the German luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz is planning to launch a new communication technology for automobiles to communicate with each other. The technology also enables the car driver to communicate with the manufacturer.
The new integrated system named ‘My Mercedes’ is being developed by the carmaker to provide connectivity among cars as well as between car driver and the company, stated Managing Director and CEO Mercedes Benz India, Mr. Eberhard H Kern.
Mr. Kern also commented that the Bangalore center of Research and Development will play a key role in the in development process. The technology will enable vehicles to transmit information regarding dangers on the road to other vehicles contributing to enhancement of road safety. A manual notification option is also available for dangers which are not detected automatically.
