At the Alto Xplore Max Mileage Rally event conducted by Maruti Suzuki at Kolkata, one of the participants, Mr. Dilip Das obtained a mileage of 49.3 kmpl from his Alto. The mileages at the second and third positions were 48.2 kmpl and 47.6 kmpl respectively. The event was organized by the company especially for the Alto and Alto K-10 owners with the objective of educating the Alto owners about efficient driving to draw the best possible mileage from their cars.
The participants were given a time chart, a route map and directions for achieving maximum mileage. In order to measure the mileage with optimum accuracy, the ‘Top up to top up’ method was used to calculate the amount of fuel consumed and distance travelled.
Apart from making the drivers aware about the proper and efficient driving habits, this rally also aimed at providing them the opportunity of discovering the fuel efficient capability of the Maruti Suzuki cars, said Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The event was conducted at four cities in India namely Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Jaipur.
