India’s largest auto company, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) might cut down production in December 2008 if demand does not pick up in the near future. MSIL Managing Director Shinzo Nakanishi said that almost all countries were facing a slowdown and that if circumstances so demanded and the network stock overflowed, then Maruti would have no option but to reduce output.
Maruti had cut production in November 2008 by 6.29 per cent, compared to last year. However, production cut in December, if any, will be lower according to MSIL spokespersons.
