Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has announced the names of the 7,200 winners of the XUV500 draw which received more 25,000 booking applications in the second round of bookings for the new SUV across various cities in India. The bookings for the new car had been reopened on January 25, 2012 for 10 days till February 3, 2012 and 7,200 people were to be selected through a city-wise draw to ensure equal chance to all applicants across 19 cities.
The applicants were supposed to deposit an advance of Rs. 80,000 to participate in the draw which the company will be refunding to the unsuccessful applicants. The draw was a customer centric measure taken by the company to ensure fairness to all applicants across India and also because the bookings applications had exceeded the figure of 7,200.
