Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles which is owned by the Mahindra Group has announced the name of its next generation of electric vehicles as ‘Mahindra e2o’. The name signifies the carmaker Mahindra Group’s vision of the Future of Mobility. Earlier, the soon to be launched electric car was code named NXR

The name of the electric vehicle is pronounced as ‘Ee-too-oh’ and it has gone through extensive testing, certification and validation in terms of road worthiness as per Indian standards. The ‘e’ in the name stands for the clean and abundant energy of the sun while the ‘o’ represents Oxygen which is the life sustaining gas on the Earth. The ‘2’ in the middle stands for ‘to’ and reflects a connection between the ‘e’ and ‘o’ conveying Mahindra’s message for a cleaner environment for the Planet Earth.

The Mahindra e2o will be equipped with next generation Lithium Ion batteries and will have the ability to run 100 kilometers per charge. The car will be chargeable with the help of any 15 ampere plug point. The car will also have the ability to be charged directly from sun and contribute to protecting and preserving the environment.
