Audi India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury car manufacturer has posted sales of 9,003 units in the year 2012. The sales figures show a 63 percent increase against the carmaker’s sales for the year 2011 at 5,511 units.
The German luxury automaker recorded 931 units sold in the month of December 2012 in comparison to 394 units sold in the same month in 2011. The company missed the top spot in the year 2012 by a few units to BMW India which sold 9,375 units in the year. However, with the surge in sales during the year 2012, Audi India has managed to come closer to the top spot behind BMW India.
According to
Mr. Michael Perschke Audi India Head, the company’s performance for the year 2012 has been remarkable as it has retained its position as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India. He added that the company expects to become the number one spot in the Indian luxury car segment by 2015.
