British car make Jaguar Land Rover has announced that it will axe the R-S and R-S GT badges because these are confusing customers. It has been said that the most potent versions of a Jaguar model will wear the “SVR” badge and there won’t be any higher versions on top of the SVR models. All the SVR variants will be built on the same assembly line as the lower model variants and will not be limited-run models.

The Range Rover Sport SVR was the first SVR-badged model and it will be followed by the Jaguar F-Type SVR soon. Meanwhile, the Special Vehicle Operations division of Jaguar Land Rover will also add a new badge to the most extreme cars. This new line of models will be badged as SVX models. Land Rover’s SVX models will be proper hardcore off-roaders and will take inspiration from rough-terrain events like the Dakar Rally and Camel Trophy as inspiration. Currently, Land Rover is planning a hardcore Defender with high-performance parts, and they are also considering an extreme Range Rover as well.
