India’s biggest car exporter, Hyundai recorded a sales rise of 47% to 40,261 units as against 26,648 units in May last year. The domestic sales were 24,510 in May 2008 units from 16,643 units during the same period last year.
Hyundai sales comprised of A2 segment (Santro, i10 and Getz) :34,328 units, A3 segment (Accent and Verna): 5,874 units, A4 segment (Elantra): 14 units, A5 segment (Sonata Embera): 41 units and SUV Segment (Tuscon): 4 units.
