Hyundai Motor India Ltd has launched the new Hyundai i20 Active Crossover in the Indian market with both petrol and diesel engine options. Both variants carried over from its existing Elite i20, but improved low- and mid-range torque delivery units by 6 percent for the petrol and 11 percent for the diesel. The vehicle is available in total five variants, the two petrol Base & S variants and three diesel – Base, S and the top end variant SX.
Hyundai i20 Active technical details:
Hyundai i20 Active petrol variants are powered by 1.2-litre Kappa with Dual VTVT engine technology that generates 83 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 11.7 kgm of torque at 4,000rpm mated to a 5-speed manual Transmission.
Hyundai i20 Active diesel variants is powered by 1.4-litre U2 CRDi engine that produces 90 PS of power at 4,000 rpm and 22.4 kgm of maximum torque between 1,500-2,750 rpm.
The Active Crossover is 10 mm longer, 26 mm wider and 50 mm taller than the Elite i20, it measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, 1,555 mm in height. The ground clearance has increased from 170 mm to 190 mm as well.
Company claim that the i20 Active petrol to deliver 17.19 kmpl of certified mileage and the diesel variants returns 21.19 kmpl, as per ARAI tests. The mileage figures are little bit lower than compared to Elite i20 because the 15 kg extra weight of i20 Active.
