Hyundai Motor India is planning to launch its Hyundai H800 in the month of September 2011. According to reports from the company’s Chennai factory, Hyundai has been gearing up for the launch of this small car which will be a combination of low price strategy and the brand value of Hyundai in India. It will be the lowest priced car by the company and will compete with the Maruti Alto and the Chevrolet Spark in the same segment.
Equipped with a three pot 800cc petrol engine, the car is expected to be highly fuel efficient. Hyundai’s new “Fluidic” design will also be featured in the car. The new technology will be a feature of all the future cars by Hyundai. The new car is expected to be priced under Rs. 3,00,000. Coupled with an aggressive dealer expansion plan, the low price of the car will also be relied upon by Hyundai India to enhance its reach in the Indian rural car market.
