Ford India, the Indian subsidiary of the American automobile manufacturer Ford is planning to launch the EcoSport SUV in the Indian car market by mid June 2013. According to industry reports, the carmaker has announced that it will launch the new compact SUV after the completion of the company’s Urban Discoveries campaign.
Urban Discoveries is Ford India’s 12-city campaign road show as part of which, Ford will be also be displaying the EcoSport compact SUV at the 12 selected cities in India. The campaign will end by the last week of May 2013, soon after which the EcoSport will be launched in the Indian market.
According to Mr. Joginder Singh President and Managing Director Ford India, the carmaker is also offering the opportunity to drive and experience the compact SUV and share their experience during the campaign.
The Ford Ecosport is likely to sport a 1 liter EcoBoost petrol engine to offer 120bhp of power and alternately a 1.5 liter diesel engine to offer 90 bhp of power. The petrol version of the compact SUV is expected to provide a mileage of 17 kilometers per liter.
