Fiat India, the Indian subsidiary of the Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat has announced its target of selling 25,000 cars in the Indian auto market in the year 2013. The carmaker also plans to expand their presence in the Indian car market by adding about a 100 exclusive dealers to their dealer network.
The Italian automaker is aiming for 1 percent of the total car market share in India by boosting sales through expansion of its dealership network. It expects to add about 65 dealerships out of the 100 dealerships planned for the year by the month of March 2013.
The year 2012 has been dismal for Fiat India with sales of more than 10,000 units. After the end of its joint venture with Tata Motors, the company is in the process of setting up its exclusive dealership network in India. The auto manufacturer now targets a two fold increase in its sales in the year 2013. In order to attract customers and boost sales, it also plans to launch new car models in the second half of 2013 apart from introducing revamped models of its existing cars, the Linea sedan and the Punto hatchback.
By the third quarter of 2013, Fiat India also plans to introduce the Jeep Brand in India with the launch of the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee car models.
