The German luxury car maker Audi is set to launch of its popular luxury sedan A6 in the Indian market next week (first week of August-2011). The car is already available in the European market and receiving a staggering response from the buyers in that market.
The new lightweight Audi A6 has been developed at the C7 Type 4G platform of the company, and is about 30 kg lighter than the current version of the car. In addition to the lighter weight, the car will also be carrying a longer wheelbase. The car is 3 inches longer than the existing model of the car. The car is expected to be offered in four engine options including a 3.2L petrol engine, 2.0L TDi, a 2.0L turbo diesel and 3.0L turbo diesel.
In the Indian market, the all new Audi A6 will be mainly competing with the likes of BMW 5 Series and Mercedes Benz E Class. As per the industry reports, the assembling operations of the car has already been started at the Aurangabad assembly unit of the company. Audi India aims to sell as many as 2000 units of this sedan in the country in the initial year of its launch.
