Audi turned the successful race car R8 into a road sports car R8 in 2007 and will now launch it in India by the year end. The Audi R8 is equipped with a 4.2 L FSI V8 engine developing 420 PS. It carries a mid engine quattro and permanent four wheel drive.
Commenting to the press, Mr. Martin Birkner, Audi India’s V-P Marketing said that they will launch R8 in October-November in the last quarter and they already have the first order in India.
According to Mr. Birkner Audi is not planning to launch it’s small car A3 in India currently.
Audi’s product range in India includes newly launched sedan A4, A6, A8, SUV Q7 and convertible TT.
