Soon after BMW India had announced a price hike in the month of January 2014, Audi India, the Indian arm of the German luxury car manufacturer Audi has followed suit. Audi India has announced a price hike by up to 5 percent across its entire car model range in India.

The hike by Audi India comes a few days after the hike by BMW India where it has decided to raise the prices by 5-10 percent.

The carmaker attributed the increase in car prices to the economic factors prevailing in India which have been increasing pressure on the business and operations. The hike on all of Audi car model in India will be in the range of 3-5 percent and will come into effect on January 1, 2014.

Mr. Joe King Audi India Head stated that the economic factors have affected Audi’s business model and thus the need to raise car prices. He stated that the customized finance options on the new car purchases are being provided by the carmaker’s finance division, Audi Finance.
