Audi India, the Indian arm of the German luxury carmaker Audi has recorded a sales growth of 11 percent in 2013. The automaker sold a total of 10,002 units in the year in comparison to 9,003 units sold in 2012 making it the first luxury automobile manufacturer in India to achieve this milestone.
Mr. Joe King Head Audi India stated that Audi India closed the year with record making 10,002 units sold in a single year. Sales of rival carmaker BMW fell in the year while Mercedes Benz India also witness growth in the year 2013.
Mr. King attributed the sales growth to the Audi’s diverse product portfolio and network expansion in the year 2013. The month of December 2013 saw more than 1,340 bookings which was Audi’s highest ever for a month.
Since the carmaker had already announced a price hike from January 1, 2014, the customers who had already booked cars in December 2013 will be provided with price protection and the cars will be delivered at the December 2013 prices.
