Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) launched two new variants of the i20 this week, the i20 diesel and the i20 automatic. The diesel version of the car comes with a 1.4 litre CRDi engine which gives a maximum power output of 90PS@4000rpm. It will be available in three variants – the Magna, the Asta and the Asta (O). The automatic version of the car comes with a 1.4 litre, 16 valve Gamma petrol engine. HMIL Managing Director H S Lheem said at the launch that this was the first time in the country that a compact hatchback was being offered with automatic transmission. Both the new variants not only offer higher fuel efficiency but also boast of superior technology and best-in-class performance.
