Audi India, the Indian arm of the German luxury car manufacturer Audi has showcased the A3 luxury sedan at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. The new sedan car model is expected to be introduced in the Indian car market by mid-2014.
According to industry experts, the A3 car model will be Audi’s cheapest sedan in the Indian car market and will hence become its entry level car model for India. Mr. Terence Johnson Vice President (Overseas Sales) Audi AG stated that India is one of the top 10 priority markets for the carmaker.
Mr. Johnson further stated that the automaker has achieved new sales records in 40 markets. He added that in India, the carmaker sold 10,002 units in the year 2013 which was an increment of 11 percent in comparison to sales in 2012. This is also the first time ever that the luxury carmaker has surpassed the 10,000 units milestone.
Speaking about the plans for the Indian market, Mr. Joe King Head Audi India said that the carmaker is in the process to expand its dealership network to 40 outlets by the end of 2014.
