Ford India, the Indian subsidiary of the American automobile manufacturer Ford has introduced a new mobile technology, the SYNC AppLink in India which enables communication between smartphones applications and AppLink enabled automobiles using voice commands.
The initiation by the American carmaker is aimed at revolutionizing the in-car experience for car buyers in India. The new technology is expected to hit the Indian markets in the year 2014. According to Mr. David Huang Senior Manager Ford Asia Pacific’s Technology and Business Development-Connected Services, the SYNC AppLink offers convenience to the car driver to access info and content.
The SYNC AppLink is capable of controlling applications on the smartphone through the voice control system, the Ford SYNC. Moreover, the application can be integrated with various mobile apps.
