Fiat Group Automobiles India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat has announced the completion of the dissolution of the distribution arrangement of Fiat vehicles with Tata Motors. From this point onwards, Fiat will be in complete control of its commercial activities in India.

Fiat had been operating in India through a partnership agreement with Tata Motors for activities that included marketing, sales, distribution and after sales service of Fiat car models in India. Since the past year 2012, Fiat has been establishing its independent dealership network in India with the aim of capturing significant market in the Indian auto industry.

According to Mr. Enrico Atanasio Director Fiat India, the Italian carmaker’s aim through the dissolution of the agreement with Tata Motors is to strengthen Fiat’s presence in the Indian car market which it considers to be a strategically important auto market for Fiat products.
