Audi launched its sports coupe Audi RS 5 on Tuesday (July 19, 2011) in Andhra Pradesh at the ex-showroom price of Rs 77,35,000. Two units of RS 5 have already been sold by Audi Hyderabad, the Audi dealer in the city. The new launch is likely to push sales in the city and the showroom is aiming to sell 300 units inclusive of all Audi models in the year 2011, says Mr. Rajiv M Sanghvi, Managing Director, Audi Hyderabad. According to Mr. Sanghvi, Audi A4 sedan and Audi Q7 SUV are the top drivers of sales for the dealership.
The Audi RS 5 is equipped with a V8 engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which enables quick execution of gear shift. It also includes a permanent all wheel drive system along with numerous performance features. With the launch of this sports coupe, Audi hopes to strengthen its position in the sports car segment in India, says Michael Perschke, Head of Audi India.
