The Japanese car maker Toyota has finally launched the second-gen new Toyota Fortuner at a starting price tag of Rs. 25.92 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In current year, this is the second most awaited new car by the company launched in India after the Innova Crysta, which was launched in May earlier this year. The new Toyota Fortuner available in six variants: 2.7L 4×2 MT Petrol, 2.7L 4×2 AT Petrol, 2.8L 4×2 MT Diesel, 2.8L 4×2 AT Diesel, 2.8L 4×4 MT Diesel and 2.8L 4X4 AT Diesel.

New Toyota Fortuner features highlight:
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner comes with refreshed new look with the rugged and simplistic design into modern view. The new model gets a complete overhaul inside out. It is now loaded with features such as LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels and loads of chrome garnishing. Additionally, 7-SRS airbags and ABS with EBD are standard across all the variants.
In-terms of interior updates, it is equipped with the leather upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, automatic climate control and electrically adjustable driver’s seat are just a few features that make the whole package much more desirable.

The SUV is available in both petrol and diesel engine options, so buyers can choose 2.7-litre petrol or a 2.8-litre diesel engine. Both the engines have been borrowed from the Innova Crysta but more power to carry the extra weight. The petrol Fortuner can generates 166PS of power at 5200rpm and 245Nm of torque at 4000rpm. It is mated to with choice of transmission 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic. The diesel powered engine can generate 177PS of power at 3400rpm and 420Nm MT/ 450Nm AT between 1600-2400rpm. And this is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. But the 4WD technology is only available with the diesel engine.
