Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer has announced to recall 3,796 units of its newly launched mid-sized sedan Maruti Ciaz to replace a faulty clutch operation system part, which are manufactured till 7th, November.
Company said in a statement that “Maruti Suzuki India Ltd will proactively undertake a service campaign to inspect a suspected fault and replace the relevant part of clutch operation system of a batch of 3,796 Ciaz (manual transmission) cars”.
The company has decided to undertake a service campaign to communicate with owners of the affected vehicles and will be done free of cost. Also the owner of Ciaz can check online through requested to fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number), the site address is Ciaz Service Campaign.
Customers may also contact the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki India had launched Ciaz on 6th of October this year in both the K14 VVT petrol engine and DDiS200 diesel engine option at starting price Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The petrol engine can produce 92.45 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine is generating 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. The petrol engine can delivers a certified 20.73 kmpl of fuel efficiency and diesel engine gives 26.21 kmpl of fuel efficiency which claim India’s most fuel efficient car.
The petrol variants of Ciaz are priced between Rs. 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.34 lakh while the diesel variants are priced between Rs. 8.04 lakh to Rs 9.8 lakh respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).
In April Maruti Suzuki India had recalled 1,03,311 units of Ertiga, Swift and DZire to replace faulty fuel filler neck, which were manufactured between November 12, 2013 and February 4, 2014. In September, this year company had recalled 69,555 units of Dzire, Swift and Ritz models to repair wiring harness fitment, manufactured between March 2010 and August 2013.
