WordPress.com had a chance to visit the ten day long 2011 South Florida International Auto Show which was started in 1971 and is held at the Miami Beach Convention Centre each year. The show is hosted by the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association. The USA has approximately 60 annual auto shows and the South Florida show is among the largest. Serving as a venue for national product introductions, the auto show showcases more than 1,000 new car, truck, van and SUV models from more than 40 of the world’s leading manufacturers. More than 665,000 people visit each year and the financial impact on the local economy is estimated at over $50 million. The show has a reputation for attracting exotic, unconventional, cutting-edge expressions of automotive design and engineering.
