Despite the disruption of its production in Japan, Toyota Motor announced that it will launch Prius V in the US in the third quarter of 2011 while Prius C will be launched in the market in early 2012.
Toyota also announced that it will launch its electric Scion iQ in the US on schedule as promised, although the auto giant did not give any specifics on the launch date. A sample model of the car was unveiled at Geneva Motor show this year. Toyota’s electric Scion can run 50 miles on battery power alone. The car upon its launch is expected to face stiff competition from the Nissan Leaf and the Mitsubishi i.
