Toyota is set to launch its hybrid car Toyota Prius C, the second model in the Prius range, at the Tokyo Motor Show in December 2011. Powered by a 1.5 liter petrol engine and an updated version of the Hybrid Synergy Drive with an electric motor, the new hybrid car offers a fuel economy of 21.25 kmpl and produces reduced greenhouse gases for a cleaner environment.
Toyota, the car has a lower center of gravity to provide improved handling. The body of the Prius C will smaller than the existing Prius, with 150mm shorter between the axles and 490mm shorter in overall length.
After its debut in Tokyo, the Prius C will be launched in the US at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2012.
