The car also provides advantage over motorcycle (which is currently being used as the standard patrol vehicle) as it can accommodate more people and its boot can be used to store weapons and communication equipment.
The Mumbai police stated that their plan to use the Tata Nano as a patrol vehicle is not yet concrete and a deal with the carmaker will be finalized only after the car has been tested to its limit for crucial jobs.
