With over 70 products unveiled or launched and more than a dozen new global concepts the 12th Auto Expo 2014 made a grand start. Almost all the major players of the Indian market participated in the Expo and they displayed a few of their products relevant to our market or to the global market. The 12th Auto Expo took place in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh in the National Capital Region and one had to drive almost 50Km from Delhi. The 12th Expo was divided in two parts with the motor show taking place in Noida and the components show was held at the old location of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
A special mention to the organisers, this year’s expo was heavenly organised and well managed as compared to what we had to witness at the last expo in Delhi. The exhibitors were lined in a way that one need not labour much to run from one hall to the other to see their favourite cars and bikes. All cars and trucks were in pavilions on the ground floor and the bikes and other few exhibitors were on the 2nd floor halls.
Lots of people had apprehensions about the success of the expo because of the distance of being far from central Delhi and making its debut in Noida outside of Delhi for the first time, but the huge crowds and enthusiasm proved to everyone how much Indians love to see their favourite wheels and automobile brands. The first day of the expo witnessed almost 70,000 people which went further to the staggering number of more than 1,10,000 visitors.
The early start to the Expo on a cold and drizzling day was warmed by Maruti initiating the day with the preview of its 2 concepts, following the Maruti event the day kicked off with almost 40 events happening in the gap of 20 minutes each to keep us running on our toes to cover every bit from what all the participating manufacturers had to showcase in terms of technologies, products or concepts in their respective pavilions.
