Porsche India has announced its plans to launch the Porsche 911 sports car in India through its official importer Precision Cars India by the month of April 2012. Priced at approximately Rs. 2 crore ex-showroom Delhi, the new sports car model is expected by the company to boost its sales in India.
With this objective, Precision Cars India is also planning to expand its dealer network in the country. Currently, the company has six dealerships in India and plans to launch more products apart from increasing its number of dealerships, says Ashish Chordia, Chief Executive Officer, Precision Cars India.
Precision Cars sells the Porsche Cayenne, the Panamera, the 911 and the Carrerra in India and reported sales of 322 cars in 2011, an increase of 140 percent over the 134 cars sold in 2010. In the super luxury segment, Porsche currently has the largest seller in India with 30 percent market share. The market is expected by the industry experts to grow at a rate of 30-40 percent every year.
