Volkswagen has announced the launch date of its new Jetta car as August 17, 2011. The new car is expected to be a better version of the current car in terms of looks and interiors along with an upgraded engine and will compete with Hyundai Sonata Transform, Skoda Laura, Toyota Corolla Altis, Chevrolet Cruze, and Renault Fluence. The engine for the new car will be a 2 Litre common rail TDI engine with a maximum power of 140 bhp.
With the ever increasing petrol prices, the company might choose not to include a petrol version in its new range of Jetta. Moreover, it could be possible that the unique BlueMotion technology may be incorporated in the new car, since the company had earlier said that all its upcoming cars will feature the BlueMotion technology. The price of the new Jetta will be disclosed on the official date of the launch i.e., August 17, 2011.
