Ford India is planning to launch its new generation Ford Fiesta on July 14th 2011. The car which will be priced between Rs. 8,00,000 to Rs. 11,00,000. Titanium, Titanium Plus, and ZXI are the three variants in which the car will be available. Featuring both petrol and diesel engines designed especially for the Indian market, the car will offer better mileage and low carbon emission.
The car will optionally feature a 1.5L petrol engine with a maximum power of 109bhp and a 1.5L diesel engine with 89.9bhp and will have a manual 5 speed gear box and a cruise control feature. Manufactured at the Chennai plant along with the Classic version, the new generation car will compete with cars such as Maruti Swift Dzire, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna, Fiat Linea and Toyota Etios. Within the next five years, the company plans to expand its presence in the Indian market by launching five new car models.
