Maruti Suzuki India’s premium compact hatchback the Ritz has sold 2,00,000 units since its launch in May 2009. The car model is one of the fastest to achieve the 2,00,000 sales mark and is expected to sell higher volumes in the future, stated the company.
In the fiscal 2011-12, the company sold more than 64,000 units of the Ritz in the domestic market making it a bestseller in the premium A2 segment. 8,000 units of the premium hatchback have been exported to the Asia region including markets such as South Asia and Southeast Asia.
Commenting on the milestone for the car model, Mr. Shashank Srivastva Chief General Manager (Marketing) Maruti Suzuki India stated that the Ritz is one of the finest offerings by the company and has a consumer base across age groups.
Available with a 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine or a DDiS 1.3 L diesel engine, the Ritz comes with a price tag of Rs 3,96,201 – Rs 5,60,969 (Ex-showroom).
