Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India has announced the CNG version of the newly launched Celerio small car, namely the Celerio Green. The CNG version of the new car model has been priced at Rs 4,92,000 (Ex-showroom Mumbai).
The Celerio Green car model will be available only in the VXi variant of the car model and will be equipped with a 1.0 liter K series petrol engine that will offer 59 PS of power on CNG fuel. The engine which will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission is claimed to offer a fuel economy of 31.79 kilometers per kilogram.
The carmaker is expected to make the car available in the Indian market by the end of May 2014. The Japanese automaker is also reported to be working on a diesel version as well as an LPG version of the Celerio car model.
