Mahindra & Mahindra are planning to enter the small car segment with a new 1,000cc car. The new car is expected to come with a price tag between Rs. 2,50,000 – Rs. 3,50,000. Powered by a petrol engine, it is expected to be both cost and fuel efficient to the customers. With Mahindra being known for its ruggedness and reliability, the car is expected to become a hit in rural areas. It is reported that the company has chosen the state of Tamil Nadu to set up its plant for the new car due to an abundance of automotive suppliers in the region and the availability of a port for export activities.
The company has plenty other products lined up, among which is the Xylo Mini, based on the design and body frame of the Xylo MUV. Mahindra World SUV (W201) is also expected to be launched soon. A new version of the Verito with a truncated boot is also set for a launch. The REVA brand, taken over by Mahindra, may soon unveil the REVA NXG and NXR electric cars.
