There are reports going around that the American car maker, Ford, will be launching 4 new products in the Indian market and one of them will be the iconic Ford Mustang sports car. If this is true then the Mustang will be the Halo car for the company in india. Globally, the Mustang is available with three engine options, the 305bhp 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine, the 305bhp 3.7-litre V6, and the 420bhp 5.0-litre Mustang GT. We do expect that if the car does make it to India it will come with the Ecoboost engine, which is already popular in the Ford EcoSport.
There are still very little details being revealed right now, but there has been some unofficial confirmation from the people at Ford India, that the car will be coming our way soon. The Mustang is now being manufactured in right had drive variants for the UK markets, so it could be a viable option for the American car maker to bring these cars to India, but they will most probably come the CBU route, which will keep prices high, but there will be no competition as the Mustang will be the only muscle car on offer in India.
