Auto Car India Editor, Hormazd Sorabjee put an end to the speculation as to what Hyundai’s small car codenamed HA would be called, by revealing that the car would be called Hyundai Eon. Upon its launch the car would compete with the Maruti Suzuki’s Alto and the Chevrolet Spark.
Hyundai Eon will be propelled by a three cylinder 800 cc engine. Resembling Hyundai design lines, the car is expected to go on sale at an affordable price of about Rs. 3,00,000 and apart from being lean on the pocket it will also offer its passengers roomy interiors.
Speculations are the company will launch Hyundai Eon in October 2011 around the festival time, but the exact date of the launch has not yet been revealed. According to the sources, Hyundai Motor India is looking forward to the launch of the Hyundai Eon. The auto maker is confident that the small car will be able to generate a market for itself much like the Chevrolet Spark or the Maruti Alto.
