General Motors unveiled its Chevrolet Beat Electric in New Delhi. And Beat electric as a part of their global demonstration of future technologies as we do not think GM will be launching Beat Electric in India anytime soon. On a single full charge, Chevy Beat Electric can run for a distance of 130 kms, which is more than enough for daily commuting for most of us.
“We are delighted that Chevrolet selected India as an important market to test battery electric technology , while recognizing the capabilities of our engineering team to help identify ways to make this technology more affordable,” said Mr. Karl Slym, President, GM India.
The next big launch from GM, which is expected to change their fortunes in India will be the Beat diesel. Powered by a small 1.0L 3 cylinder diesel engine and will give a mileage of 24 kmpl. The engine generates approximately 60 bhp and 140 Nm torque. Expect GM to launch Chevrolet Beat Electric later this year.
