General Motors India has launched diesel engine with Chevrolet Beat small car at priced tag between Rs. 4.29 lakh to 5.45 lakh (Delhi, ex-showroom.
Beat diesel basically comes to compete Tata Indica eV2 – the only diesel small car that is cheaper than itself at Rs 3.95 lakh – besides the Ford Figo and Maruti Suzuki’s Swift and Ritz.
The new diesel Beat is available in three standard variants 1.0 PS, 1.0 LS 1.0 LT and one optional variant called 1.0LT Optional which has ABS, Dual Airbags and Alloy wheels. The company promises that the new Turbocharged 1.0-litre XSDE Smartech diesel engine, which has been developed locally by GM’s Bangalore-based technical centre, delivers a mileage of 24 kmpl as per ARAI the tested agencies.
Chevrolet Beat Diesel life is an all-new 936cc, 3-cylinder diesel engine that delivers power output of 62.5PS at 4,000 Rpm and maximum torque of 150 Nm at 1750 Rpm.
The new Chevrolet Beat Diesel TCDi is available to interested buyers in starting with:
1.0L PS – 4.29 lakh,
1.0L LS – 4.59 lakhs,
1.0L LT 4.99 lakhs
And finally the top end 1.0L LT Optional variat – 5.45 lakhs (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
GM India is also offering its buyers 3 years or 1,00,000 kilometers warranty with the purchase of this car.
