Ford India’s combined domestic wholesales and exports grew to 21,004 vehicles in November in comparison to 17,189 vehicles in November 2015.

November domestic wholesales stood at 6,876 vehicles against 8,773 vehicles in the same month last year, while exports grew to 14,128 vehicles compared to 8,416 units in November 2015.

“While the macro-economic indicators continue to be positive, the auto industry does face short term headwinds given the recent demonetization drive” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford India. “Our strategy of product led innovation, a differentiated customer experience, and breaking the myth on our cost of ownership has ensured that Ford continues to grow faster than the industry since the start of 2016.”

In an independent Spare Parts Price Survey done by India leading auto magazine, Autocar India, Ford products were ranked among the most affordable against the competition, making for a strong endorsement of the efforts undertaken by Ford in this regard.

Equally bolstering the product promise, the company also commenced pan-India bookings of its iconic Ford Mustang. Priced at INR 65 Lakh, the booking of Ford Mustang, till now, was limited to Delhi & Mumbai in the first phase since its launch in July. The new Mustang is equipped with a 5.0L V8 petrol engine, churning out a massive 401 PS* of peak power, to appeal to enthusiasts across India.

In November, Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman William Clay Ford Jr. on his India visit announced that the company would expand its product development and global business services capabilities in India. The investment of nearly US$195 million (Rs. 1,300 crores) into the Ford Global Technology and Business Center will set the foundation for growing the Ford team in India.
