Ford India, the Indian subsidiary of the American automaker Ford is reported to have started accepting bookings for the EcoSport compact SUV in the Indian car market at an advance payment of Rs 50,000. The new compact SUV may get launched on June 11, 2013.
According to industry experts, the new compact SUV is likely to be launched in four trims, the Ambiente, the Trend, the Titanium and the Titanium optional trims. The high end version of the EcoSport SUV is powered by a 1.5 liter engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Both the Ambient variants and the Trend variants features 5-speed manual transmission.
The entry level model of the EcoSport compact SUV will feature manual air conditioning, manual rear windows with the exceptions of ABS and airbags. The top variant will however feature leather seats, push button start and keyless entry.
