Bagging a total of 15 automotive awards in India, Audi India with its range of car models including the Audi A8L, the Audi A6, the Audi A7 and the Audi RS5 became the most awarded luxury automobile maker in India across a vast diversity of product categories.
Some of the awards won by the company include the Audi A8L winning the Import Car of the Year by CNBC TV18 Overdrive Awards and the CB Luxury Sedan award at the ET Zigwheels Award. The Audi A6 received the Premium Car of the Year by CNBC TV18 Overdrive Awards and the Premium Sedan of the Year by NDTV Car & Bike Awards. Establishing Audi as the sportiest brand, the Audi RS5 scoped the Top Gear Magazine’s Car of the Year award and Performance Car of the Year by NDTV‘s Car & Bike Awards 2012.
According to Mr. Michael Perschke Head Audi India, the 2011 year has successful for the company in terms of both sales and prestige. He added that Audi has accumulated a large fan base in India vouched for by the 4,30,000 fans on the Audi India page on Facebook social networking site.
With a growth of 84 percent, Audi’s sales in India increased from 3,003 cars in 2010 to 5,511 cars in 2011. Moreover, the company has also set in motion its expansion plans by opening showrooms in various cities across India, while plans for more opening are currently being formulated.
