Audi India has plans to launch seven new car models in India in the year 2012 and to provide adequate support to the launches and increase sales and market share in the luxury car segment, the company also plans to expand its network of dealers. Among the new launches by the company would be the TT roadster and Q3 coupe models.
As to the expansion of its current dealership network of 15, Audi plans on adding 10 dealers. With these plans, the company has set a target of selling 8,000 cars in 2012 in comparison to approximately 5,500 cars sold in the year 2011.
The luxury car sales have been witnessing a growth of about 50 percent in India. Moreover, the Indian luxury car market has attracted many other global luxury car manufacturers such as Aston Martin and Fiat’s Ferrari and Maserati which have entered the market in 2011.
