Audi India, the India arm of the German automobile manufacturer Audi expects the upcoming luxury sedan A3 car model to strengthen its presence in the Indian luxury segment. The carmaker has announced that the local production of the new car model has already commenced at the Aurangabad manufacturing plant.
The A3 sedan is the first car model by Aud to be locally produced before being launched in the Indian market. All existing car models by Audi have initially been imported as completely built units until local production and assembly lines were set up.
According to Mr. Hubert Waltl Production Board Member Audi, the move to locally produce the A3 sedan in India before launch is in line with the carmaker’s growth strategy for the Indian luxury car market.
The A3 luxury sedan is set to be launched in the Indian market in the month of August 2014.
