Indian automobile major Tata Motors has reported a decline of 27 percent in its sales for the month of June 2014 selling a total of 38,557 units in the month. The domestic sales of the carmaker stood at 34,743 units, a fall of 29 percent against 48,716 units sold in the same month in 2013.
The automaker’s commercial vehicle sales saw a 27 percent decrease in sales selling 26,832 units as compared with 36,912 vehicles sold in June 2013. Sales in the light commercial vehicle segment of the automaker declined by 33 percent while the medium while the heavy commercial vehicles sales were down 14 percent.
The passenger car sales in June 2014 of the carmaker declined by 33 percent selling 7,911 units in comparison to 11,804 vehicles sold in the same month in 2013. The exports of the Indian carmaker also suffered by 5 percent with shipment of 3,814 units in the month as compared with 3,996 sold in June 2013.
