Mercedes-Benz India, the Indian arm of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes Benz has announced its decision to launch its exclusive AMG range of sports car outlets in the Indian market. The AMG range will be have dedicated high end stores in India by the year 2014.
The move by the carmaker is aimed at cashing in on the potential for performance cars in India and expanding its presence in the Indian luxury car segment with its top end performance cars. The car models in the AMG range are priced from Rs 90,00,000 to Rs 3 crore and as of now, more than 200 cars have been sold in India since its launch in the year 2010.
Mr. Eberhard Kern Managing Director and CEO Mercedes Benz India stated that the luxury automaker is targeting customers with requirements of exquisite style and high performance. The carmaker has launched three car models from its AMG performance range including the E 63, the G 63 and the SLK 55 AMG priced at Rs 1.29, Rs 1.6 crore and Rs 1.26 crore respectively.
