Skoda Auto India, the Indian arm of the Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda is planning to launch the new version of the Octavia sedan on October 3, 2013. The carmaker expects to revive the Skoda brand in the Indian auto market and boost sales amid sluggish market conditions with the launch of the new sedan.
The new Skoda Octavia sedan car model will be powered by a 1.4 liter and 1.8 liter petrol engines while the diesel version of the car will be equipped with a 2.0 liter diesel engine. The 1.4 liter petrol version of the car model will feature a manual gearbox and the 1.8 liter petrol version will be available only with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The diesel version however will offer both options, a manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The new sedan Skoda Octavia will include 16-inch alloy wheels, power mirror adjustment, ABS, dual front airbags, traction control, steering adjustment, driver seat height adjustment in addition to remote locking and rear air vents and power windows for all variants.
While the price of the new upcoming sedan haven’t been revealed, it is expected to be to the tune of Rs 15,00,000.
