The Chevrolet Sail sedan by General Motors India which was launch on February 1, 2013 had received 836 bookings prior to its launch date. The American carmaker had started accepting bookings for the new sedan before the official launch in the Indian car market.
According to General Motors India, the new Sail sedan received higher demand for the diesel version of the car model, about three times that of the petrol version. Out of the total bookings received before the launch of Sail sedan, the diesel version constituted 638 bookings while the petrol version received 198 bookings.
The petrol version of the Chevrolet Sail sedan is available at an entry level price of Rs 4,99,000 while the entry level price for the diesel version is Rs 6,29,000. Both versions feature engines which have been specially designed for the Indian car markets.
The petrol version is claimed to offer a mileage of 18.2 kilometers per liter while the diesel version is said to offer 22.1 kilometers per liter.
