Indian automobile major, Tata Motors posted a 29.5 percent fall in its total sales for the month of January 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 61,660 units in the month in comparison to 87,465 units sold in the same month in 2012.
The domestic sales of the Indian auto manufacturer’s commercial and passenger vehicle stood at 57,780 units. The company exported 3,880 vehicles in the month of January 2013.
The passenger vehicle segment of the company sold 15,209 units out of which the compact car segment including the Tata Nano, the Tata Indigo and the Tata Indica range of car models contributed a total of 11,192 units. The SUV range of Tata car models including the Sumo, the Safari and the Aria SUVs sold a total of 4,017 units in the month of January 2013.
