    Volvo India gets new Managing Director

    Volvo India, the Indian subsidiary of the Swedish automaker Volvo Group has announced Mr. Philippe Divry to be its Managing Director on August 21, 2012. Mr. Divry will also be holding the position of Senior Vice President at Truck Joint Ventures India, a part of the Volvo Group.

    His new position will entail overseeing the resourcing and optimization of the company’s workforce of more than 4,000 people in India. He will be heading Volvo’s growth plans in various business areas and functions. Mr. Divry is the highest ranking executive ever to be positioned in Volvo India due to his position as Senior Vice President with the Volvo Group.

    Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Divry stated that the Volvo Group has long-term interests in the Indian market despite the economic slowdown in the Indian auto industry.
