It’s time for the patient car buyer to celebrate, now that almost all major auto companies have slashed car prices. Maruti Suzuki was the first to cut prices after the announcement of the stimulus package by the government and Hyundai Motor followed soon after. Other carmakers too were quick to announce massive discounts on their models.

The prices of Hindustan Motors’ Mitsubishi Lancer, the Cedia and the Montero are lower by Rs. 25,000, Rs. 31,000 and Rs. 1.19 lakh respectively, while both the Pajero and the Outlander are cheaper by Rs. 65,000. Toyota’s Corolla and Innova have seen price cuts of Rs. 40,750 and Rs. 32,780. Ford India has lowered the price of the Fiesta by Rs. 21,000-Rs.25,000 and that of the Fusion by Rs. 18,500 while the Ford Endeavour is cheaper by Rs. 47,000-54,000. Tata Motors’ Indica and Indigo are to be cheaper by Rs 12,000-23,000 and the Tata Safari and Sumo by Rs 16,000-36,000. Skoda too will cut prices by up to Rs. 51,500, while Mahindra Renault has already announced a discount of Rs. 60,000 on the Logan.
